Set A Schedule
The first step toward an early-morning workout routine is a set schedule. Evaluate your work/life balance and decide on a reasonable hour to go to bed each night. Be sure you can get a full night’s sleep so you are well-rested for your physical activity in the morning. Determine how much time you need before you head out the door. Are you someone who needs a full breakfast in the morning? Allow 60-90 minutes for your body to digest before you head to the gym. If you can eat a banana and head out the door, you probably only need thirty minutes.
Sleep in Gym Clothes
It sounds silly, but it works. The easiest way to ensure your early-morning workout success is to cut out distractions. If you sleep in your workout clothes, you take the guesswork out of your morning. You can make it even easier for yourself by leaving your keys, shoes, and headphones by the front door.
The key to a great early-morning workout is a great early-morning breakfast. Even if you don’t have much of an appetite in the morning, it’s important your body have fuel to burn during your workout.
